Bass Lake at Yosemite
At Bass Lake, it’s rarely too hot or too cold, the fishing’s great, golfing is just around the corner, and Yosemite National Park is at your doorstep. Located in the foothills of the western slope of California’s High Sierra, Bass Lake is a great location for anglers. Spend a day at the resort and choose from hiking, playing shuffleboard, swimming in the outdoor pool, or participating in planned activities at the clubhouse.
Yosemite National Park
As you leave the coast and enter the Sierra Nevada mountains, you’ll experience Yosemite National Park, famed for its giant, ancient sequoia trees, the iconic vista of towering Bridalveil Fall, and the granite cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome. In Yosemite Village are shops, restaurants, lodging, the Yosemite Museum and the Ansel Adams Gallery, with prints of the photographer’s renowned black-and-white landscapes of the area.
Monterey
On California’s rugged Big Sur coast, explore the legendary town of Monterey. Cannery Row, one-time center of the sardine-packing industry, was immortalized by novelist John Steinbeck. Today, it’s a popular strip of gift shops, seafood restaurants, and bars in converted factories. Also famous is Monterey Bay Aquarium, with thousands of marine animals and plants on display in underwater and interactive exhibits.
Carmel-By-The-Sea
Carmel-by-the-Sea is a small beach city on the Monterey Peninsula, known for the museums and library of the historic Carmel Mission, as well as the fairytale cottages and galleries of its village-like center. The Scenic Bluff Path runs from surf spot Carmel Beach to bird-rich Carmel River State Beach, with a scuba entry point. South lie the sea animals and whaling museum of Point Lobos State Natural Reserve.
Pismo Beach
Pismo Beach is a classic California beach town. Visit one of the many nearby wineries, play a round of golf, or simply stroll the white sands. The Monarch Butterfly Grove shelters monarch butterflies that migrate to Pismo State Beach in the cooler months
Santa Barbara
As your trip continues up the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway, discover the beaches and colonial history of Santa Barbara. Enjoy swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, kayaking, whale-watching, windsurfing, horseback riding, and more.
Malibu Beach

Silver Lake State Park
Silver Lake State Park's unique landscape features 2,000 acres of giant sand dunes. Challenge your family to walk the dunes, rent an off-road vehicle or reserve a ride to enjoy them. For a truly unique experience, try the challenge of sandboarding the slopes. Silver Lake also features dense forests, the Little Sable Point Light, and a mile of shoreline to explore, including the warmer, calmer swimming option of Silver Lake
Petoskey, Michigan
Nestled along the shores of Little Traverse Bay, this beautiful community is filled with history, Victorian architecture and delightful views. Visit the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, partake in a wine tour or stroll Lake Street, listed as one of the best small town shopping streets in the Midwest. The Petoskey area offers visitors the chance to unwind and enjoy nature at its best.
Mackinac Island
This unique island is perfect for a day trip, with no cars allowed. Hike the trails, paddle a kayak or ride a bike all the way around the island. Take a ferry under the mighty Mackinac Bridge, enjoy world-famous fudge or relax in a horse-drawn carriage. Just hop on a ferry and enjoy a day of unique shopping, diverse dining and unforgettable views that Mackinac Island has to offer.
Door County, Wisconsin
With miles of shoreline, you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset on Lake Michigan, all in one county. Enjoy local wine and beer, beautiful orchards, local art galleries and explore several state parks and historic lighthouses throughout Door County. Don’t miss some of Door County’s unique experiences like fish boils, shipwrecks (there are over 275!) and cherry picking.
North Adams, MA
No visit to the Berkshires is complete without a stop in North Adams, Massachusetts. This small city boasts a plentiful assortment of museums, galleries, shops, and restaurants. Nestled close to the foothills of the Northern Berkshires, North Adams is a charming stop with a surprising amount of culture, including the largest contemporary art museum in the United States, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art.
Mohawk Trail
The Mohawk Trail is the first scenic road built in New England, but it began as a Native American trade route and is filled with many choices for fun and adventure for all ages and any season. The 63 total miles encompass 50,000 acres of state parks and forests, but also includes a countless variety of places to stop, shop and dine.
Lake George
Located in New York’s vast, protected Adirondack region of mountains and old-growth forests, the town of Lake George sits on the lake of the same name. Start with a relaxing lake cruise to learn about the area, then learn the history of Fort William Henry and Fort Ticonderoga. Lake George is also home to New York’s largest amusement park. Hike or take a tram to the top of Prospect Mountain for panoramic views.
Balloon Vermont
While you are in the area, don’t miss one of the “World’s Ten Best Hot Air Balloon Adventures.” From the rolling foothills of the Green Mountains to the shoreline of Lake Champlain, far-reaching vistas are visible at higher altitudes. Balloons fly year-round, weather permitting, but it’s hard to resist autumn, when Vermont’s famed fall foliage is at its vibrant peak.
Lake Champlain
The Lake Champlain area features some of the most delightful small towns in Vermont. From unique shopping and dining to picturesque waterfronts and family-friendly hiking trails, the area is as diverse as it is beautiful. Enjoy the towns of Burlington and Clochester, or grab your bike and take in the sights of beautiful Lake Champlain as you cruise along the 14-mile long bike path known as the Island Line.
Green Mountain Byway
The 22-mile Green Mountain Byway winds through the towns of Waterbury and Stowe, with the northern Green Mountains to the west and the peaks of the Worcester Range to the east. The Byway rewards you with stunning views of meadows, farmlands and forests, along with history and art. This excursion treats you to the best of Vermont. Don’t miss stopping for cider!
The Kancamagus Highway
This 34.5-mile portion of Route 112 is a recognized National Scenic Byway and offers travelers rich history and natural beauty, in addition to being considered one of the best fall foliage viewing areas in the world. The byway winds across New Hampshire through the heart of the scenic and mountainous White Mountain National Forest. It is home to an abundance of hiking trails, picturesque ponds and many scenic overlooks.
Cannon Mountain Tramway
On your journey, stop by the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway and revel in spectacular views. This 80-person passenger cable car brings visitors to the summit of Cannon Mountain in under ten minutes. The tram is open from the end of May to late October.
Acadia National Park
One of the nation’s most beloved National Parks, Acadia protects a pristine area in coastal Maine where ancient forest meets the wild Atlantic. Many of the park’s major features are within easy reach of Bar Harbor, including the start of Acadia’s scenic Park Loop Road. You can also take several ferries to reach Isle au Haut, as well as other islands, where you can explore secluded coves and dramatic sea cliffs.
Old Stone Villiage
Considered one of the best of its kind in the state, this beautifully-maintained RV park has a plethora of features for you to enjoy. A complete community center and clubhouse, heated seasonal pool, children’s playground and sports court are all tucked into this park. With easy access to highways, McMinnville’s shops, restaurants, scenic vineyards and historic attractions, you'll want to explore the Yamhill Valley and Willamette Valley regions.
Willamette Valley
This region’s farm-to-table food scene is complimented by its wine legacy, but there’s more to do than eat and drink. Take in the farms, vineyards and forests from your luxury RV. Pedal down scenic country roads and visit with the tight-knit and talented locals. Medford, Oregon
Medford is surrounded by mountains and situated in the Rogue Valley in the southern portion of Oregon. Grants Pass, Oregon
The history of Grants Pass is rich in the story of the American West. Today, this hamlet in Southern Oregon is colored by the wild flavor of the Rogue River, which bisects the town. Pay a visit to Grants Pass for all that the river inspires — stroll through the National Historic District, enjoy a day on the lively Rogue River, or sample wines from the Applegate Valley wine region.
Crescent City, CA
Crescent City is home to the northernmost lighthouse station in California. Overlooking the town’s harbor, the 1856 Battery Point Lighthouse sits on a tiny island that can only be reached on foot at low tide. Wander the Crescent City waterfront and visit Ocean World aquarium, where the sea lions balance balls and play catch with visitors. On the town’s west end is oceanfront Pebble Beach Drive, a great place to search for semi-precious gemstones.
