Meet the Higgins!
John and Tanya Higgins set out on a luxury motorcoach road trip to visit and tour several colleges with their daughter. Driving a motorcoach had always been a bucket list item for John, so they decided to explore the Southeast through the exciting lens of a luxury RV. Prior to their trip, GossRV helped plan their route and itinerary start to finish, booking all of their RV resorts in close proximity to the colleges on their list, along with restaurants and sight-seeing opportunities in the areas.
Where they Traveled
To kick off the trip, their personal driver Jeff, picked them up in Louisville at their home to help them load up and train John how to drive the coach. Their driver took John out on the road to get him comfortable with the experience and controls of the vehicle. “We have had a great time and really enjoyed this trip. Jeff was so wonderful to work with and helped John really get comfortable driving,” said Tanya.
Once the Higgins were ready to set out on their adventure, Jeff drove with them to their first destination of High Point, NC and helped them set up their coach at their RV resort for the night, then departed from their family the next day. Each RV resort on the Higgins’ trip had a memorable feature, such as patio swings, s’mores, and fire pits, making for a relaxing experience after a full day of college tours.
For their next stop, they headed towards beautiful Greenville, SC, where they got to retreat to the quiet and relaxing RV resort of Travelers Rest KOA. “The camp sites that GossRV organized were fantastic and we really enjoyed the experience at all of them,” said Tanya. While in Greenville, they toured Furman University, then set out towards Charleston, SC.
In Charleston, the Higgins got to stay among the stunning southern oak trees surrounded by Spanish moss and explore two of the city’s most historic locations of Patriot’s Point, and Middleton Place. Their itinerary included suggestions for highly rated local restaurants, and a self-guided walking tour around Charleston.
From Charleston, the Higgins drove to St. Augustine, FL where they stayed beach-side at a Bryn Mawr Ocean Resort. After touring Flagler College, they had plenty of time to explore the country’s oldest city. During the entirety of their trip they experienced, “An amazing level of comfort,” said Tanya. Their coach was elegant with plenty of comfortable sleeping arrangements and even came decked out with a washer/dryer unit and fireplace.
The Higgins ended their road trip in Siesta Key, FL where they met their driver to drop off the coach and departed back home to Louisville. “The RV is really nice and was so comfortable. It’s been a great way to travel and provided memories of a lifetime.”
