Andy Bullard and his wife Sarah along with their four kids and family dog, took a week-long adventure from Atlanta, GA to St. Augustine, FL in a luxury RV. Planning to drive the RV themselves, they packed up the family, and headed down to Florida in the Entegra Reatta luxury motorcoach.
While Andy drove the coach, Sarah was able to get a lot of work done on the road. With Wi-Fi available aboard the coach, she sat at the dinette table working on her laptop and was even able to take a few zoom calls because the ride in the luxury RV was so smooth! Their four kids were also happily entertained the whole way down to St. Augustine. They played card games, X-Box and watched college football on the tv, and even took naps in their bunk beds all while the coach was in motion.
Once they arrived in St. Augustine, the Bullards checked into the Bryn Mawr Ocean luxury motorcoach resort where their coach was parked just 50 feet from the beach! The Bullards were suprised at how simple it was to set up their luxury RV once onsite. They quickly hooked up the water and electricity in the coach and opened all the slides, which provided more room, nearly doubling the width of the coach.
“We had more room than we would have in a traditional hotel room. A hotel room with a family of six can feel really small really fast,” said Sarah. By vacationing in a luxury RV, the Bullards were able to enjoy the spaciousness of having two bathrooms, plenty of storage throughout the coach, and the outdoor patio area as an extension of their home on wheels.
Sarah enjoyed taking advantage of the washer and dryer in the coach, doing about six loads of laundry throughout their trip. The showers in the coach had strong water pressure and the whole family had plenty of hot water each day. Andy and Sarah both slept extremely well every night in the king size, adjustable Tempur-Pedic mattress in the primary suite. Unlike staying in a hotel, each of the four kids had their own designated sleeping space, keeping everyone in high spirits the whole trip!
Each morning, before the kids woke up, Andy and Sarah would make their coffee in the kitchenette and sit outside the RV watching the sun rise over the ocean, allowing them to be close to the kids without waking them up. During the day, the kids would play on the beach and swim in the ocean just feet from their luxury RV! And in the evenings, Andy would fire up the grill to make burgers and hot dogs while the kids watched football on the outdoor TV. “It’s like we had our own little tailgate party!” remembers Andy.
By staying at the luxury RV resort, the Bullards were able to meet lots of friendly people from all over the U.S.. If they had a question about setting up their RV or RVing in general, they found that the other residents were more than willing to help them out when needed. They even ended up sharing a meal with their next-door neighbors!
Reflecting on past family vacations, “No one is excited to go back to the hotel at the end of the day. Staying in the RV made the trip way more adventurous and fun, and everyone was so excited to hang out in the RV,” said Sarah.
When asked his advice for first time luxury RV renters, Andy says, “People who have never experienced an RV before will always have some hesitancy at first. I encourage you to dive in and just go for it. After the first day, you realize how fun it is and how much you’ll enjoy the experience.”
