The parks also protect vast prairies, oak woodlands, wild river-ways, and nearly 40 miles of rugged coastline. Here you’ll find the tallest trees, greenest groves, and the most peaceful beaches. Explore the parks by hiking through the diversity of ecosystems.
Crescent City, CA
Crescent City is home to the northernmost lighthouse station in California. Overlooking the town’s harbor, the 1856 Battery Point Lighthouse sits on a tiny island that can only be reached on foot at low tide. On the town’s west end is oceanfront Pebble Beach Drive, a great place to search for semi-precious gemstones.

Formed from a volcanic eruption, it is the deepest lake in the United States. The lake is filled almost entirely by snowfall, and is one of the clearest lakes in the world. The park contains vibrant forests, bountiful wildlife and an awe-inspiring lake worthy of its nickname, “lake majesty.” Its geologic history spans back thousands of years and inspires visitors today as they swim, snowshoe, ski, hike and cycle through the mountainous terrain.
Grants Pass, Oregon

Pay a visit to Grants Pass for all that the river inspires — stroll through the National Historic District, enjoy a day on the lively Rogue River, or sample wines from the Applegate Valley wine region.
Medford, Oregon
Medford is surrounded by mountains and situated in the Rogue Valley in the southern portion of Oregon. Tour the area’s five covered bridges and take advantage of the ability to enjoy hiking, biking and rafting in mild climate. Experience what Forbes named a global wine destination.
