Bar Harbor, Maine
Bar Harbor – known for its stunning coastal beauty, yachts, lobster boats, island views, and ocean settings – is the perfect place to begin your journey through New England. It is the center of activity for Mt. Desert Island visitors, with a variety of shops, restaurants and taverns, as well as easy access to the forests and shores of Acadia National Park. Walk the historic Shore Path, go whale watching, or simply stroll through the town.

Acadia National Park
One of the nation’s most beloved National Parks, Acadia protects a pristine area in coastal Maine where ancient forest meets the wild Atlantic. Many of the park’s major features are within easy reach of Bar Harbor, including the start of Acadia’s scenic Park Loop Road. You can also take several ferries to reach Isle au Haut, as well as other islands, where you can explore secluded coves and dramatic sea cliffs.

Cannon Mountain Tramway
On your journey, stop by the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway and revel in spectacular views. This 80-person passenger cable car brings visitors to the summit of Cannon Mountain in under ten minutes. The tram is open from the end of May to late October.
The Kancamagus Highway
This 34.5-mile portion of Route 112 is a recognized National Scenic Byway and offers travelers rich history and natural beauty, in addition to being considered one of the best fall foliage viewing areas in the world. The byway winds across New Hampshire through the heart of the scenic and mountainous White Mountain National Forest. It is home to an abundance of hiking trails, picturesque ponds and many scenic overlooks.
Lone Pines Campsite, Vermont
Located in the Lake Champlain Valley, Lone Pine Campsites is situated in one of Vermont’s most beautiful regions. It’s very close to Mallets Bay and a mere 15 minutes from downtown Burlington. You won’t want to miss a tour of the legendary Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory, a sail on Lake Champlain, shopping at the Church Street Marketplace, or a hike in the magnificent Green Mountains.
Green Mountain Byway
The 22-mile Green Mountain Byway winds through the towns of Waterbury and Stowe, with the northern Green Mountains to the west and the peaks of the Worcester Range to the east. The Byway rewards you with stunning views of meadows, farmlands and forests, along with history and art. This excursion treats you to the best of Vermont. Don’t miss stopping for cider!
Lake Champlain
The Lake Champlain area features some of the most delightful small towns in Vermont. From unique shopping and dining to picturesque waterfronts and family-friendly hiking trails, the area is as diverse as it is beautiful. Enjoy the towns of Burlington and Clochester, or grab your bike and take in the sights of beautiful Lake Champlain as you cruise along the 14-mile long bike path known as the Island Line.
Balloon Vermont
While you are in the area, don’t miss one of the “World’s Ten Best Hot Air Balloon Adventures.” From the rolling foothills of the Green Mountains to the shoreline of Lake Champlain, far-reaching vistas are visible at higher altitudes. Balloons fly year-round, weather permitting, but it’s hard to resist autumn, when Vermont’s famed fall foliage is at its vibrant peak.
King Phillip's Campground
Find peace and tranquility beneath the tall trees sheltered along French Mountain at this RV park. It’s the closest park to Lake George, just a little over a mile away. Enjoy the best the Adirondacks have to offer; from antique shopping to beer tastings or boating and hiking, this central location will have you close to it all.
Lake George
Located in New York’s vast, protected Adirondack region of mountains and old-growth forests, the town of Lake George sits on the lake of the same name. Start with a relaxing lake cruise to learn about the area, then learn the history of Fort William Henry and Fort Ticonderoga. Lake George is also home to New York’s largest amusement park. Hike or take a tram to the top of Prospect Mountain for panoramic views.
Mt. Greylock Campsite
Nature is everywhere at Mt. Greylock Campsite Park, a true jewel in the Berkshires, located at the base of Mount Greylock Reservation. The Berkshire Mountains are filled with activities; hike Mount Greylock or simply drive to the summit, visit the Norman Rockwell Museum, or enjoy food and spirits in nearby Lanesborough, MA.
Mohawk Trail
The Mohawk Trail is the first scenic road built in New England, but it began as a Native American trade route and is filled with many choices for fun and adventure for all ages and any season. The 63 total miles encompass 50,000 acres of state parks and forests, but also includes a countless variety of places to stop, shop and dine.
North Adams, MA
No visit to the Berkshires is complete without a stop in North Adams, Massachusetts. This small city boasts a plentiful assortment of museums, galleries, shops, and restaurants. Nestled close to the foothills of the Northern Berkshires, North Adams is a charming stop with a surprising amount of culture, including the largest contemporary art museum in the United States, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art.
