Central Coast

California’s Central Coast

With unbelievable views and fabulous wine, this area has retained a laid-back lifestyle, so no need to rush. California’s Central Coast boasts over 250 wineries over two major wine grape-growing regions—Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo. With over 40 wine grape varieties in “Slo-Cal,” this area produces many internationally acclaimed wines that can be sampled at more that 100 tasting rooms.

Two major viticultural areas – Arroyo Grande and Edna Valley – make up this region. Paso Robles, or simply “Paso,” although known best for its wine, is also home to olive orchards, farms and hot springs. Visit downtown San Luis Obispo, where downtown bustle meets stunning views of the crashing sea. And with vineyards just a few miles from pristine beaches, this area boasts many outdoor activities like hiking and biking.

But we’re here for the wine! Visit Sinor LaVallee Winery where the focus is on Albarino, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinor Noir, and Syrah. With a sleek, modern tasting room just one block from the ocean, you cannot pass by without stopping for a taste.

For one of the most picturesque settings in the area, head to Edna Valley Vineyard. From its panoramic views of rolling vineyards and the dormant volcanic Morros mountains, you can sample California native Josh Baker’s Pinots, Chardonnays and Syrahs. Bring a picnic to recharge on the winery’s broad front picnic area.

Pismo Sands RV Resort

Make your wine-touring respite and home away from home at Pismo Sands RV Resort. located in Oceano, California. This luxury RV resort is just minutes from Pismo Beach and convenient to everything California’s Central Coast has to offer. Or, to be in the heart of the action in Paso Robles, stay at Vines RV Resort, where you’ll find all the luxury features you’d expect, along with some special wine-focused amenities like a wine garden with regular live entertainment and a wine tour that departs directly from the resort.

Napa Valley & Sonoma Valley

In a state renowned across the globe for its wine, Northern California’s Napa and Sonoma Valleys are incomparable. Pairing beautiful vistas with generations of passionate wine production, this region is simply unmatched. The Napa Valley and its world-famous wine region, which also includes many sub-regions to explore, boasts 390 wineries that produce over 1,000 brands of wine. Sonoma Valley, generally regarded more laid-back and spread out than Napa, has 450 wineries ranging from small, family-run establishments to big, top producers.

 Napa Valley

Let’s dive in with Napa Valley, where a combination of history and extraordinary climate has helped this area become one of the world’s leading wine regions. And not only does Napa Valley have incredible wine, but it also offers world-class dining and stunning natural beauty. With so many wineries in Napa, one way to explore is by traveling on the Napa Valley Wine Train, described as not just a train, but a journey in a luxuriously vintage setting. However, just one tour won’t do, so plan on doing a few others as well. For specific winery tours, click here.

Sonoma Valley

People come from all over the world to sip Sonoma’s creamy and zesty Chardonnay, cool-climate Pinot Noir, juicy Zinfandel, impressive red blends, and refreshing sparkling wines. While both valleys are worth your time, Sonoma is more bucolic and rustic than its sister Napa Valley. Drive down a dirt road to enjoy casual outdoor dining or visit Sonoma Plaza and appreciate the unique old-school charm this town has to offer. Or for a truly one-of-a-kind experience, float above the vineyards, fields, streams and creeks on a hot air balloon ride.
